My story starts the same as many I cannot remember ever not sewing. My mother sewed and started me on primitive doll clothes as soon as I could hold a large needle with double thread. In high school I made garments for myself, my sister and my friends. Then I made clothes for my children, finally graduating into evening gowns and costumes.
In 2003 I stumbled into quilting and it was a great fit. Retiring from hairdressing in 2004 gave me time to pursue my new found hobby. It's been a great adventure.
At first I thought I would do competition quilts, with some success on a regional level, I soon realized it is the design process I really enjoy and I am not a perfectionist by nature. I want to enjoy quilting, so I have pursued the fun part, designing and I do not have to drive myself crazy with the perfectionist part.
